Your clay artefact's journey
At Lervaerk, we believe in being open and transparent about how we care for your creations. That’s why we’ve designed a system that lets you track their progress in real time—from the moment you leave our studio until the day you pick them up.
Here’s a look at the journey your piece takes while you wait to see the final result!
Drying
After you hand in your piece, it's time for it to dry. We will let it dry slowly to minimise the risk of cracking caused by shrinkage. This step might take up to 6 days.
Firing
When your piece is finally dry, it becomes ready to be fired. We will fire it as soon as we complete a full load of the kiln.
Glazing
After firing, the piece is ready to be glazed.
If you told us that you want to glaze your piece on your own, we will notify you and wait for you to reserve a 'paint-on glazing' experience.
Otherwise, we will take care of glazing your piece with the glaze you chose for it.
Firing Again
Once the glaze has dried up, we will fire your piece a second time. This is the step where the glaze shows itself in it's full glory.
Ready to be collected
The piece is finally done. Once all the pieces you gave us in custody are ready, we will notify you.
In the unfortunate case some issue occurred to one of your creations, this will be clearly indicated in our email.
Collect your piece
At this point you can simply drop-by at our studio during opening hours and collect your creations.
